Central PMQ, Hong Kong: TATTOUR HK 2025 - Breaking Borders, A Global 'International Wen Hua. Stick to the Ground' Exchange, Top 55 Tattoo Artists from 15 Countries Gather at PMQ to Create the Most Eye-Catching Wen Hua Carnival of the Year

Description
Following the inaugural 'TATTOUR HK 2024' last year, which sparked city-wide discussions and attracted 5,500 visitors and an impressive 2.6 million social media mentions over three days, this international 'Wen Hua' event is back by popular demand! TATTOUR HK 2025, organized by Hong Kong's first professional tattoo school, RGB Academy, will be held from November 14 to 16 at PMQ The Qube and Courtyard and Marketplace in Central with an even stronger lineup and on a larger scale, featuring 55 top tattoo artists from 15 countries and regions, turning PMQ into a dynamic international tattoo art expo.
Unique 'Stick to the Ground' Interaction: Overseas Tattoo Artists Become 'Neighbors', Drawing Hong Kong-style Shaomai Together
This year's exhibition theme is 'International Wen Hua. Stick to the Ground Exchange', aiming to break the boundaries of art and geography. More thought has been put into the venue design and arrangements to present world-class tattoo art in the most friendly and Hong Kong-style manner. To bridge the gap between international Wen Hua and local Hong Kong audiences, TATTOUR HK founder Jimmy said, 'Tattooing is an art form, and we hope to change the traditional perception of tattoos and bring different countries' tattoo cultures to Hong Kong through TATTOUR HK 2025. This year, we have given each overseas tattoo artist a unique Cantonese nickname to make them feel more welcome and to encourage visitors to interact with them as they would with friends.'
In addition, all participating tattoo artists are invited to create artwork on the theme of 'Hong Kong-style Shaomai' in their distinct artistic styles, which will be exhibited on-site. This playful project brings together international artistic perspectives and local Hong Kong sentiments, perfectly embodying the spirit of 'Stick to the Ground Exchange.' 'Stick to the Ground Exchange' is our way of practicing this sentiment. Shaomai is a food that best represents Hong Kong's culture. This is not just a fun project but also a true cultural exchange, blending international art with Hong Kong culture,' shared Jimmy.

Beyond a Tattoo Expo: A Cultural Carnival with a Multisensory Experience

Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of tattoo art while enjoying a multisensory party for their eyes, ears, and taste buds.
Founder Jimmy shared, 'Our initial intention for organizing Tattour was to promote tattooing as a respectable form of body art and change the negative perception of tattoos. We firmly believe that tattoos can preserve memories of the past and give hope for the future. Our ultimate goal is to bring the 'TATTOUR' brand to different parts of the world and showcase Hong Kong's Wen Hua perspective internationally.'
Founder's Insight: In the AI Era, Tattoos Offer Irreplaceable Warmth
TATTOUR HK and RGB ACADEMY founders, renowned Hong Kong tattoo artists Dust Wu and Jimmy Yuen, shared their thoughts: 'This year's theme, 'International Wen Hua. Stick to the Ground Exchange,' carries a deeper meaning - 'unity' and 'sentiment.' As seen in this year's TATTOUR Logo, which features a lot of overlapping and connecting elements, TATTOUR HK aims to closely link tattoo artists from around the world and unite them to showcase the art of tattooing.'
They emphasized, 'In the AI era, AI tattoo designs have emerged, but we firmly believe that real tattoos cannot be replaced by AI. Tattoos are a form of art with a soul and warmth. Every needle prick and every line carries the stories and emotions of the tattoo artist and their client. Through this exhibition, we want to proclaim to the world that tattoos are a unique and irreplaceable form of human body art.'
